John Whitehall - Head Coach
John has a range of experience coaching complete beginners as well as high quality tennis players and all the levels in between.
He has over 20 years experience in the tennis world and his achievements include:
Nominated and awarded as performance coach of the year and community coach of the year in the British tennis awards
National and county teams captain experience over 15 years
Head coach at Indoor Tennis Centres and Members Tennis Clubs
Mentored over 15 coaches through their coaching career
5 completed Tennis Coach Apprenticeships
Coached many juniors from starting the game to international representation
Track record in supporting adults in integrating into their local club and into club teams
Working towards LTA Level 5 Master Coach qualification
Alex King - Assistant Coach
We are thrilled to have Alex as a member of the coaching team as Cuddington & Sandiway is his original club where he played as a junior. He was also made club champion before spending time playing on the International Futures circuit. Currently a Level 3 coach Alex has been coaching for 8 years. He works with juniors and adults of all ages from beginners to international standard.
Aidan Wiggins - Assistant Coach
A new addition to the team Aidan is a L4 coach and you will find him at the club on a Wednesday evening coaching the junior sessions and also running our popular Cardio Tennis sessions for the adults.
Chloe Hughes - Assistant Coach
When Chloe isn't jet-setting around the globe as a touring coach she supports the team on a Saturday coaching the adult sessions, Tennis for Kids and also running the local after-school sessions.
Frances Brown - Tots Coach
You are mostly likely to find Frances on court with our tots as well as assisting the other coaches with their junior sessions. Any questions regarding bookings, payments and the scheduling of the coaching programme she is the one you need to speak to. Frances is also the clubs Welfare Officer ensuring the club is adhering to the safeguarding guidelines the LTA have in place.
Our mission is to get more people, of all ages and abilities, playing tennis more often.
We will encourage you to play tennis through regular coaching at the tennis club, community events and schools programme. We love to see people to enjoy the health and social benefits of playing the sport as well as supporting and encouraging you to play competitively.
Our unique coaching programmes include children’s coaching from ages 2-15 years, adult coaching from Cardio Tennis and beginners sessions through to individual coaching and team training.
In addition, we also deliver coaching within pre-school, primary and secondary school settings in the local area.
The team are all fully qualified and affiliated with the LTA and as such also support their initiatives including Tennis for Kids, Great British Tennis Weekend, Quorn Cup and Team Challenge Events.
