TEAM RESULTS FINAL WEEK 15 July
Mens
The Men's A team finished 3rd in Division 2 (missing out on promotion to the top division by just 1 point). A season report by captain Simon Nuttall can be read here.
The Men's B team finished second in Division 3 and will be promoted to Division 2 where they will join the A team next season. Division 3 was a tightly contested division with the B team showing strong resilience to gain their promotion. The C team will stay in division 4 having finished 5th with 10 points.
Ladies
The Ladies A team finished 4th in Division 1 on 12 points. The B team finished second bottom of Division 2 and will play in Division 3 next season. The C team finished 5th in Division 4 with 8 points.
Mixed
The mixed A team finished as runners up to champions Congleton A in Division 1, Julia Worrall & Simon Nuttall are still haunted by the two missed set points against Congleton A which would have clinched the championship, but that’s just tennis! A season report by captain Janet Worrall can be read here. The B team will join the A team in Division 1 next season having finished runners up to champions Congleton C in Division 2. The C team finished second bottom in Division 2 and will play in Division 3 next season.

2008 Knockout League
Mens A were knocked out in the quarter final against Division 1 champions, Congleton A, in a close match last week. In the Les Beckett Mens’ Handicap knockout, Cuddington C are through to the semi final stage. Mixed A are also through to the semi final stage of the Jane Astbury Mixed Knockout competition.

CLUB TOURNAMENT FINALS DAY
The club tournament finals were held on 13th July. Well done to everyone who entered – there were some excellent and closely fought matches at all stages of the tournament, and a good crowd supported & cheered on all the finalists.

Wimbledon 2009 & British Tennis Membership
You are probably aware that the Club has recently disaffiliated from the Lawn Tennis Association. This affects our allocation of Wimbledon tickets and other things.

JUNIOR CLUBNIGHTS to continue in August & September
Primary-age players 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Secondary-age players 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Gary's Junior Clubnights have been very popular and we are particularly grateful to our fantastic juniors who have given up their time to help ensure that the sessions have been so successful.
Gary has agreed to continue to run the Friday sessions throughout August & September but we will have to ask for a £2.00 weekly contribution to go towards the cost of running these additional sessions. Two courts will be available for juniors who do not want to participate in the organised groups.
